App Description
Chess for children: lessons, puzzles, and a coach that explains every move.
Learn Chess teaches the game the way a patient teacher would: one idea at a time, with a reason attached to every move.
LESSONS THAT BUILD ON EACH OTHER
Start with how each piece moves and work up to forks, pins, and the ideas behind real openings. Each lesson is short, and finishes with a position to try for yourself.
PUZZLES THAT ADAPT TO YOU
Every puzzle is rated, and so are you. Solve a hard one and the next gets harder; miss a few and it eases off. Your rating is a picture of what you can see on the board, not a score to chase.
A COACH THAT EXPLAINS WHY
Most chess apps tell a child their move was a blunder. This one tells them why: "Your queen went to f6, where their knight can just take it, and nothing of yours is guarding it." The explanation comes from the engine's own analysis, so it is always about the position actually on the board.
On phones that support it, the wording is polished on the device itself by Android's built-in AI. The chess is never left to the model: the engine works out what is true, and the model only helps say it in friendlier words. Where that is unavailable, the coach explains in simpler wording instead, and nothing is lost.
PLAY A REAL OPPONENT
A full chess engine with adjustable strength, from a gentle beginner up to a level that will beat most adults. Every game can be replayed move by move.
