This application allows you to analyze the formal structure of an Italian Fiscal Code ("Codice Fiscale") and extract the public information embedded within the code itself.
Use this tool to check the formal correctness of your data or to better understand how the Italian Fiscal Code is structured.

What this app does:
• Data Extraction: Extracts the encoded birth date, gender, and birth municipality from a fiscal code string.
• Formal Syntax Check: Verifies if the 16-character string follows the official alphanumeric format and calculates the checksum character (control character) based on the public algorithm.
• Algorithm-based Computation: Shows how a potential code would look based on specific personal data (name, surname, date, and place of birth).

What this app DOES NOT do:
• No Official Validation: This app does NOT check if the code exists or is active in the official government database.
• No Legal Value: The results provided by this app have no legal value. Official Fiscal Codes are exclusively issued and managed by the Agenzia delle Entrate.

What is an Italian Tax/Fiscal ID Code?
The Tax/Fiscal ID code in Italy is a code that serves to uniquely identify natural persons in their relationships with public institutions and administrations of the Italian State.
The Tax/Fiscal ID code is assigned at birth to a natural person and is issued to each Italian citizen by a public institution called "Agenzia delle Entrate" and can also be assigned to foreign citizens.
The Tax/Fiscal ID code is used by all public administrations in Italy and serves to identify the citizen, the taxpayer and all other subjects required to have it.
For natural persons, the Tax/Fiscal ID code is generally made up of 16 alphanumeric characters. The Tax/Fiscal ID code is created using the surname, name, date of birth, gender and place of birth of the natural person.
