◆What is ehomaki?!
Eating ehomaki on Setsubun is considered auspicious.
The custom is to eat it whole while facing the lucky direction of the year and thinking of a wish.
This custom is said to have spread mainly in the Kansai region (Osaka).
◆How to Identify the Ehomaki
Ehomaki (sushi roll) indicates the direction in which the "Toshitokujin" (God of Toshitoku), the god of fortune and prosperity, is located.
Ehomaki is determined by the year's "Jikkan" (Ten Heavenly Stems), so the direction changes every year.
With this app, you can easily find out the lucky direction for 2025 just by launching the app!
◆What is Setsubun?
Setsubun is an event held to drive away demons, which appear at the change of seasons.
It is customary to throw beans while chanting "Good fortune in, demons out" (good fortune in, demons out), and eat the same number of beans as your age.
◆How to Use the App
1. Launch the Ehomaki Compass app.
2. Hold your smartphone horizontally and align the "blessing" sign so that it is facing upward.
