MS sherpa, your personal guide in managing MS

MS Sherpa is a medical device on your phone. We measure symptoms associated with the disease multiple sclerosis (MS). By checking these regularly you can gain a good insight into the progress of MS in you personally.

MS Sherpa measures 3 things: walking speed, how quickly your brain processes information and the influence of MS on your daily life.

How do we do that? During the walking test you walk with the phone in your pocket. The phone measures how fast and how far you walk, so you get a good idea of ​​your walking speed. Your walking speed says something about your walking ability.

We also measure how quickly your brain processes information. To do this, you complete a thinking task in the app, the cognition test.

Finally, you can complete a short questionnaire in the app. These questions are about how you feel that day and how MS affects your day. This way you can keep track of how you are doing between hospital appointments.

Taking the walking test and cognition test and answering questions are a useful way to see a clear development of how you are doing after a few months. Your medical practitioner will look at the results to gain good insight. This way he can guide you even better.
