App Description

Follow the trail of the Sabeltand Tiger or make a time trip through the Hunze forest

Experience the Hunzebos in 3D. While walking you get acquainted with the ice ages and the rich history of this beautiful area. In 3D or via augmented reality you can experience the origins of the landscape up close.

You can choose from two routes. The Sabeltand Tigers Railway or the Leewal Time Travel Route.

The Sabeltand Tigers Trail is an adventure route for children in the Hunze Forest. With a winding path over hills from the ice ages and cool
play areas, such as a cable car and a balancing bridge. Climbing, scrambling, jumping, sneaking and doing exciting games on the app, such as a game against a saber-toothed tiger.

The Time travel route Leewal is a 7.5-kilometer walk through forests, moors and drifting sand, past hunebeds and fields between Exloo and Odoorn. You can see impressive remains of the ice ages, such as many boulders and the enigmatic Leewal that meanders through the landscape.

A special project in one of the jewels of the Hondsrug UNESCO Geopark, which focuses on experiencing history and landscape. An app that enriches the experience for both children and adults in a unique way. Because where else can you compete with a saber-toothed tiger ?!

The landscape around Exloo is the beating heart of De Hondsrug UNESCO Global Geopark. Here you can still really experience the ice age landscape. Two important hotspots of the Geopark are located in this area: the Hunzebos and the Leewal, an enigmatic steep wall that meanders through the landscape.
