Signing on

With this audiovisual tour, we want you, as a visitor, to have an even stronger experience of what it was like to be a war sailor during World War II. Some of the scenes take place on board D/S Hestmanden, but the narratives will otherwise paint a general picture of who the war sailors were and their experiences, both during and after the war.
During the tour, you will meet Tellef, Sonja and Johan. The war sailors in this narrative are fictional, but the stories are based on extensive materials obtained from the accounts told by real war sailors.
Signing on is what sailors do when they start work on a new ship.
