For Muslims, the Holy Book of the Koran is the main book of the believer and the focus of the main thoughts and provisions of Islam. Translated from Arabic, the word "Quran" means "reading aloud" or "edification".
When the Prophet Muhammad was at the age of forty, the first revelation was sent down on him. This happened on the Night of Power, which falls on the month of Ramadan.
Then, for twenty-three years, the transmission of the Holy Book of the Koran was carried out through the angel Jabrail, which, after the words of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, was written down by his companions.
There are one hundred and fourteen chapters in the Quran, each of which consists of verses. The order in which the suras are located in the Quran does not correspond to the chronology, the order in which the suras of the Holy Book of the Quran were transmitted through the angel Jabrail - the verses were sent down to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in different ways: in different places and at different times. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ memorized these verses, and later he composed suras from these verses. From the very moment the revelation was sent down, their appearance did not change, for fourteen centuries they remained unchanged, and not a single sign and not a single letter changed in them.
