App Description

Per-app brightness control for migraine, light sensitivity & photophobia.

LuxKeeper is an Android accessibility tool for people with migraine, light sensitivity, photophobia, or post-concussion syndrome who can't use the system-wide brightness slider effectively. If you need different brightness levels per app to manage symptoms, LuxKeeper applies the right brightness the moment you open each app — and leaves every other app alone.

It works by giving you a screen brightness rule for each app on your phone — then actually applying it, reliably, every time. If banking or maps need full brightness to be readable but every other app must stay dim to avoid triggering a migraine, LuxKeeper handles that automatically. No fighting the system brightness slider every time you switch apps. No painful flash of full brightness when symptoms are already bad.

WHO LUXKEEPER IS BUILT FOR

• People with migraine or chronic headaches who can't tolerate the system-wide brightness level on most apps but need full brightness on specific tools (maps, banking).
• People with photophobia or light sensitivity (post-concussion syndrome, neurological conditions, autoimmune causes) who need consistent low brightness across the apps they use most.
• People with low vision who need higher brightness on specific reading or magnification apps without it affecting the rest of the system.

WHAT MAKES LUXKEEPER DIFFERENT

• Reliability first. A persistent foreground service keeps the brightness rules alive across battery-optimiser sweeps — the #1 reason other brightness apps stop working silently.
• Boot-proof. Your rules re-apply automatically after a reboot, without you having to re-open the app.
• Privacy first. Your per-app rules stay on your device. No accounts, no cloud, no tracking, no analytics. LuxKeeper does not read your screen content or observe your taps.
• Silent and minimal. No flashes. No spammy notifications. Just: the right brightness when you open an app.

ACCESSIBILITY API USE

LuxKeeper is declared as an accessibility tool. It uses Android's AccessibilityService API for the single purpose of detecting when you switch between apps, so it can apply the right brightness for that app. It does not read your screen content, observe your input, or automate any UI. Your data never leaves your device.
