App Description
Auxiliary program for "Opus 1 Music Player" and "Unpopular Music Player"
A plain audio file metadata extractor ("scanner") especially for classical music. It basically creates SQLite databases to be used by player applications like the Unpopular Music Player or the Opus 1 Music Player.
Contrary to the Classical Music Scanner, the SAF Media Scanner exclusively uses Google's Storage Access Framework (SAF), thus allowing access to media not available via the standard methods (like USB storage with older Android versions or generally network shares).
Technically expressed, the program needs an "SAF Document Provider" with "Open Document Tree" resp. "FLAG_SUPPORTS_IS_CHILD" support. Note that especially Google Drive does not support tree access, while e.g. SMB and Nextcloud clients do.
As this is expected to be a niche product usable only for a few users there has not been any localisation done yet (except English).
The program is open source and ad-free.
