The objective of this application is to provide a guide with different steps on the properties of the studies to carry out the choice of the type of design, applying the epidemiological criteria to specify the study design to be taken into account in the research.
Through the choice of the capacity to assign the study or intervention factor and the development of routine clinical practice during the study design, depending on the purpose of the study, the existence of follow-up, cause-effect direction or random assignment, and whether the unit of study is the individual, the device can be used to select the type of design that best suits each situation within a research study, specifically in the development of the methodology.
In addition, by evaluating the study according to whether or not routine clinical practice is applied, together with the evaluation of the intervention or not using a drug or medical device and the need for insurance and / or contract, the application evaluates the selection of the regulations and the procedures to be considered that best suit each research study, in order to contemplate its evaluation and approval by a Research Ethics Committee.
